cannot load WMC in Added Features, goes into never ending loop

I have up graded from W7 to W8Pro, all good, went to added Features to Load WMC, have keys.
The download appears to be working, but after 2 hours and 4 hours on two different days I had to terminate in through Task Manager.
I have read many FAQ's tied
many suggestions to no avail.
what next, is the windows 8 programme worth it, very dissatisfied.

I sincerely appreciate members answers.
This is what I have now done and it worked perfectly, maybe it is the Answer to the problem.
 
1.       Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap
Search.
(If you’re using a mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, and then click
Search).
2.       Enter add features in the search box, and then tap or click
Settings.
3.       Tap or click Turn Windows Feature on or off .
4.       Scroll down to Windows Process Activation Service
5.       Check Box then click
OK.
6.       Widows will update your PC with appropriate Software.
7.       Re do items 1 & 2.
8.       Tap or click Add features to Windows 8.
9.       Then tap or click, I already have a product key.
10.    Enter the product key, and then click
Next.
Read the license terms, select the check box to accept the license terms, and then click
Add features.
You may have to restart your PC manually given that My PC got a bit stuck updating windows important software.

Manually editing the Windows registry to fix Error cannot load WMC in Added Features, goes into never ending loop

• Click the Start button.
• Type "command" in the search box... DO NOT hit ENTER yet!
• While holding CTRL-Shift on your keyboard, hit ENTER.
• You will be prompted with a permission dialog box.
• Click Yes.
• A black box will open with a blinking cursor.
• Type "regedit" and hit ENTER.
• In the Registry Editor, select the Error 0x9C-related key (eg. Windows Operating System) you want to back up.
• From the File menu, choose Export.
• In the Save In list, select the folder where you want to save the Windows Operating System backup key.
• In the File Name box, type a name for your backup file, such as "Windows Operating System Backup".
• In the Export Range box, be sure that "Selected branch" is selected.
• Click Save.
• The file is then saved with a .reg file extension.
• You now have a backup of your MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION-related registry entry.
