How to Resolve - After installing Windows 7 Service Pack 1, now Sleep mode has started to crash.?

After installing Windows 7 Service Pack 1, now Sleep mode has started to crash.

I am running Windows 7 pro 64 bit.
I have 2 disks setup as a single raid 1 disk.  Until last week, sleep worked correctly.  Since I installed service pack 1, sleep mode appears to work, but no keystroke will wake up.  Pressing the power key starts the system,
but it says windows did not shut down properly etc etc.  I choose the Start Windows Normally option, and everything looks good.  This happens every time I use sleep, so I assume it is not shutting down correctly.  As I said, this just started happening after
installing service pack 1.  All other updates were up to date before starting the service pack install.
I have sleep set to the hybrid sleep mode.  Changing to the no hybrid mode, and it seems to works OK.  So I guess the hybrid mode is not writing out to disk correctly.  Hibernate also fails, but that is writing to disk also.

Hi warren2011,

First, please refer to this Sleep and hibernation FAQ: How can I wake my computer from sleep or hibernation?

Also, if the computer power button cannot resume the computer from sleep mode, please uninstall all unnecessary devices and see if the issue can be resolved.
Also, test in Clean
Boot.
If the issue disappears in the Clean Boot environment, we can use a 50/50 approach to quickly narrow down which entry is causing the issue.

Also, please use Powercfg command to check this issue.
To do that, refer to the steps below:

1.
Click the Start Button, type "cmd" (without quotation marks), right click on the "Cmd.exe" in the search result list and select "Run as administrator".
2.
Type "powercfg -devicequery wake_armed" (without quotation marks) in the open window and press Enter Key.

For more information, please refer to Powercfg Command-Line Options.

If the issue still occurs, please type the following command and post the result for further research.

1.
Click the Start Button, type "cmd" (without quotation marks), right click on the "Cmd.exe" in the search result list and select "Run as administrator".
2.
Type "powercfg -lastwake" (without quotation marks) in the open window and press Enter Key.

Also, please check Event Log: Go to Start -> type Event Viewer -> check the "Power-Troubleshooter" entries in "Windows Logs – System".

Hope this helps.
