I currently have word mailmerge templates where text needing to be changed/edited is highlighted in yellow. I am trying to find out if there is something that can be done to automatically remove text highlights in word when a document is being converted
to pdf.
In the past these yellow highlights on the text automatically dissappeared when converted to pdf.
However this was done by someone who has now left the company and I am trying to do this for the new templates but have no clue.
Any help appreciated.

Highlighting (assuming it truly is highlighting and not text shading) is
printed when it is displayed; if it is not displayed, it won't print.
On the
View tab of Tools | Options in Word 2003 and earlier, you can clear the
check box for "Highlighting" so that it is not displayed.
In Word 2007 and
(presumably) 2010, the check box is "Show highlighter marks" at Office
Button | Word Options | Display.

Use the System File Checker tool to repair corrupted or missing system files:

1. Click Start.
2. Type cmd, and then press CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER to open the elevated command prompt (I.e. Command prompt with administrative rights).
