WEB BROWSER POP UP THE WEB PAGE YOU ARE VIEWING IS TRYING TO CLOSE THE WINDOW. DO YOU WANT TO CLOSE THIS WINDOW

I have seen this in other blogs but have not seen anything that has resolved the issue.
i bring up a web page and a second blank page opens behind it and has the following

WEB BROWSER POP UP THE WEB PAGE YOU ARE VIEWING IS TRYING TO CLOSE THE WINDOW.
DO YOU WANT TO CLOSE THIS WINDOW I have re-installed IE 7 and re-tried oh one thing the issue is gone if you are in IE 6 only after installing IE 7 do i get this.
I have also tried dis-abling the add ons one at a time and did not find anything there as well.
I cannot get into the security area of the IE since it is locked down.
any ideas on how i can get rid of this.

That being said, perhaps the McAfee application's just doing its job and disallowing access to the page?!

If not, there's a very distinct possibility that the company web-page isn't coded properly (hence the questions I've asked you).

The above notwithstanding...

If you want to uninstall/reinstall IE7, you should disable the McAfee application (if at all possible) before doing the uninstall and the reinstall (rebooting twice after each).

Furthermore, IE7 will not be offered by Windows Update nor would I recommend installing any IE upgrade via Windows Update.

Immediately after uninstalling and/or reinstalling IE7, open IE (only) to

KB978207).  If a Root Certificates update is listed in the
Optional Software updates category on the left-hand side of the scan results window, install it to take full advantage of IE's enhanced security.

NB: Do NOT install IE8 via Windows Update! Just hide it ("Don't show me this update again").

PS: If you installed SP3 after you installed IE7, you won't be able to uninstall IE7 without having first uninstalled SP3 (and you probably don't want to do that).
