Start up problem when starting PC after being shutdown for several hours.. [Solved]

Start up problem when starting PC after being shutdown for several hours..

I have new (Feb 2012) desk top with an ASUS M5A 78L/USB 3 Motherboard and 8GB of Ram and running Windows 7 64 bit.
Islways shutdown using the Windows start button and then switch off the at the wall.
I can shutdown and boot up the PC without issue BUT
if the PC has been off for any length of time (>10 hours) it starts up, gets to the Windows symbol and then shuts down and restarts.
If I simply select cancel the problem solving dialogue it strats up OK.
If I ask it to trouble shoot it doesn't come up with
anything.
I've pasted the dated from the event viewier below showing events from shutdown yesterday 00:22 through to start up this evening 18:50.
The problem has existed for some time but at first I thought it was random.
I've recently realised that their
is a pattern and the issue only arises when the machine has been shut down for some time.
Any advice would be appreciated.
I have recently reloaded Win 7 updated the bios and set the bios settings to default.
