adware popups in internet explorer

I tried to download a driver for my maxtor usb one touch external drive from a site called rapidshare-catalog.com

the driver did not install but now i get several pop up advertising windows from all sorts of adverising sites in ie explorer.

I installed ad aware but it did not find any malware.

how do I get rid of these? do i need to find them in the registry and, if so,how?
