explorer.exe keeps hanging... can restart but then hangs again after 20secs

This happened after a Windows update today and I have tried rolling back but to no avail.  Anyone had know how to reinstall explorer or am i looking at reinstalling Win7?
Event log has:
The program explorer.exe version 6.1.7600.16450 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed.

Solved....
Used procmon and traced when explorer.exe crashed.
located crash report in folder
C:\Users\Ray\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportArchive\AppHang_explorer.exe_fef......
There were a lot of folders starting "AppHang_explorer.exe"
Inside folder is a Report.wer file which can be read with a text editor (notepad)
first bit read:

Which indicated fax service, so I turned on the modem (that has been off for a weeks) and PC is ok now.
I'm guessing this update has caused the fax service hang if the modem is turned off?  Which is pretty old school IMHO.

To check for Windows updates. Open Windows Update by clicking the Start button , clicking All Programs, and then clicking Windows Update. In the left pane, click Check for updates, and then wait while Windows looks for the latest updates for your computer. If any updates are found, click Install updates.

Install the latest updates for Windows and for the program displaying the error. Note that the update for the program might be listed as an optional update on the Windows Update page.

Open Windows Update by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button. In the search box, type Update, and then, in the list of results, click Windows Update.
