Have Windows 7 on a new HP. Problem with IE8.

When I click on a link that goes to new website, I get message "Internet Explorerer has stopped working".  Then message "Unable to return to" whatever the original website was.  This happens about 90% of the time.  It does not happen if I'm navigating
to another page within the same website.
